I recently came across a post on a Facebook stamping page asking for pictures of projects with stamps and matching dies. My first thought was, “how can someone that stamps not have a set of stamps with matching dies?” Then my second thought was “I can change that!” I’ve been cleaning my craft room and getting rid of stuff I haven’t used in a while and came across this set of Kaisercraft butterflies stamps with matching dies. I love when stamps and dies come together, or at least I used to. Now that I have a brother scan n cut, I don’t need matching dies for any stamps I buy. Don’t get me wrong, I still buy dies for things like the Lawn Fawn magic slider card, or shadow box dies but I don’t need dies for my stamp sets. I got my scan n cut in the end of August. I sold off a lot of stuff on eBay to pay for it. I loved it from my first cut and I still love it.
So I emailed the lady that made the post and told her I would send her a set of stamps with matching butterflies. She said her granddaughter loved butterflies so I am sending her the stamps and dies. Before sending it off I decided to make a card to give her an idea of one way to use it. I stamped and embossed the images with white embossing powder and cut them out using the technique that Jennifer McGuire used with the cling wrap. Link Here. It’s a great way to save A Lot of time of cranking out your stamped images.
It worked like a charm. I made this card in about an hour. I only ran four copies of all the images through my big shot. I arranged them around the edges of a standard size A6 card. Then I stamped a sentiment from Simon says Stamp ” Uplifthing Thoughts”.
I was happy the way it turned out, I should have stamped the sentiment with my Misti. I wish the sentiment was a little more bold. ( But remember, It’s handmade, not hallmark). I don’t know who came up with that saying, but it’s brilliant.
So I’m sending this card off to Trish with the set.
I wanted to send along a wish that you go out of your way today to do something nice for someone. Being the reason that someone smiles is a great thing to do.
Have a wonderful day, and happy crafting!
