Kaisercraft Butterflies stamps and dies

I recently came across a post on a Facebook stamping page asking for pictures of projects with stamps and matching dies.  My first thought was, “how can someone that stamps not have a set of stamps with matching dies?”  Then my second thought was “I can change that!” I’ve been cleaning my craft room and getting rid of stuff I haven’t used in a while and came across this set of Kaisercraft butterflies stamps with matching dies.  I love when stamps and dies come together, or at least I used to.  Now that I have a brother scan n cut, I don’t need matching dies for any stamps I buy.  Don’t get me wrong, I still buy dies for things like the Lawn Fawn magic slider card, or shadow box dies but I don’t need dies for my stamp sets.  I got my scan n cut in the end of August.  I sold off a lot of stuff on eBay to pay for it.  I loved it from my first cut and I still love it.

So I emailed the lady that made the post and told her I would send her a set of stamps with matching butterflies.  She said her granddaughter loved butterflies so I am sending her the stamps and dies.  Before sending it off I decided to make a card to give her an idea of one way to use it.  I stamped and embossed the images with white embossing powder and cut them out using the technique that Jennifer McGuire used with the cling wrap. Link Here.  It’s a great way to save A Lot of time of cranking out your stamped images.

It worked like a charm. I made this card in about an hour.  I only ran four copies of all the images through my big shot.  I arranged them around the edges of a standard size A6 card.  Then I stamped a sentiment from Simon says Stamp ” Uplifthing Thoughts”.

I was happy the way it turned out, I should have stamped the sentiment with my Misti.  I wish the sentiment was a little more bold.  ( But remember, It’s handmade, not hallmark). I don’t know who came up with that saying, but it’s brilliant.

So I’m sending this card off to Trish with the set.

I wanted to send along a wish that you go out of your way today to do something nice for someone.  Being the reason that someone smiles is a great thing to do.

Have a wonderful day, and happy crafting!

I’m enjoying my Lawn Fawn stamps

These cards are from the Lawn Fawn set called Upon a Star.  I made two additional cards with this same set that I will post later.

First I placed my constellations as I wanted them in my misti and stamped With Versamark and used white emodsing powder on a piece of watercolor paper.  I also stamped the same image on a card base of same size on plain card stock with black ink.

I used distress inks on a craft mat and spritzed with water and dragged my watercolor card base through that and dried between swipes with my heat tool.  I then used a flicked some watered down gesso for stars.  In addition I used a tooth brush to get very fine white dots with Copic white.

I was able to easily figure out where to put my chibitronics lights on the card based because it had the stars inked on it.  I chose three random stars that sort of went in a straight line to lake my circuit.  I used the new Lawn Fawn “press here” stamp to note where the battery pack was so the recipient would know what to do.  This is what the card looks like when lit up.  I had punched tiny holes in the stars of the contellations so the lights would shine through better,  when I do it again I will probably not punch out the three lights where the lights are, as they are much more bright and stark against the other stars.  I did use foam tape layer around the edge of the watercolor piece so the extra stars could shine through as well.

If you have any questions, post in comments and I will answer as soon as I am able.  A video would explain it better.  I’m still looking for a way to rig up my camera in a more economical way then buying a camera arm and mounting it from the ceiling.

Thank you for your continued interest and have a blessed day.

Altenew release

I’m inpatiently waiting to get my new stamps from the latest Altenew release so I did some crafting with the altenew stamps I already have.  This is from the Lotus stamp available Here or at Scrapmania (if in stock).  I stamped the outline images on Ranger watercolor paper and used a water brush to apply Violet Colorburst powder.  I cut out the images with the matching die set.

I added lillypads which I punched out with an oval punch and scored on the back to make the raised lines on the front.  For the background I used my Distree Oxide in Broken China.  I spritzed very lightly with water then sprayed it with a mixture of white perfect pearls and water.  You can see the shimmering effect toward the top of the picture.

I really liked the way these turned out.  I also used my other Altenew stamps and did more coloring with my colorbusrsts.  They are just too fun.

Thanks for coming to visit.  Keep Crafting!

Now Art journaling.

Hello all, I know it has been a while since I posted anything.  Things did not go exactly as planned.  I had bariatric surgery and the boiopy of my stomach shown some small carcinoid tumors.  I questioned God.  Wondering why I was going through all of the pain and not healing as quickly as I hear others do.    I am now seeing an immunologist and a specialist and having tests done.  The doctors are saying that this might have never been caught had I not had the surgery.  I started journaling as a way to heal myself.  I am so thankful to God now.  I have to remember that he has me in mind always.

I am really enjoying my are journaling I have started to follow another art journal artist by the name of Vicky Papaioannou. She is so talented.  I am dedicating this post to her.  #vickyinspired.
